Breakfast in Malaga Inn

My husband and I stayed here one night on our baby moon and it was a gorgeous building. The staff were very kind and our room was very clean. The ONLY remotely negative thing I would have to say is that at night there is no sign that I saw saying to keep noises down past a certain time, and we could hear some people at midnight laughing in the court yard. Of course, people can do whatever they want considering they were paying to stay there too, but maybe have a sign up to be mindful of guests resting in the middle of the night. It is a VERY old building, and I’m sure you could hear a pin drop, but we just played some fan noises on our phone and couldn’t hear anything else. Needless to say, we would love to stay here again!

Breakfast in Malaga Inn

A True Southern Gem – Timeless Charm and Unforgettable Hospitality ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ If you're looking for more than just a place to stay — if you're craving an experience — the Malaga Inn in Mobile, Alabama, is an absolute must. Nestled in the heart of historic downtown, this privately owned boutique hotel feels like stepping back in time, yet with all the comfort today's traveler could ask for. Originally built in 1862, the rooms are full of soul and Southern elegance: polished wood floors, antique furnishings, Charleston-style four-poster rice beds, and sparkling crystal chandeliers. Many rooms overlook the inn’s enchanting courtyard — a peaceful oasis with old-world charm that invites you to slow down and savor the moment. What makes Malaga truly stand out, however, is the warmth of its service. The inn is currently owned and operated by the grandson of the original founder, Mayme Sinclair, and you can feel that family legacy in every detail. Hospitality here is not just a standard — it’s a heartfelt tradition. Add to that its perfect location just off I-10, and you’ve got the ideal base for exploring Mobile or simply relaxing in refined Southern style. Don't miss the chance to stay somewhere this rare — the Malaga Inn is one of those places that stays with you long after you’ve left.

This is a nice historic property, and I feel a unique experience to stay in an inn this old. The accommodation is comfortable, and had everything we needed. Charlotte at the front desk is incredibly welcoming, friendly and accommodating. This place has old world charm and I would stay again if passing through Mobile. The location is great, a short walk into the main area of town, and close to many historic attractions. It’s also set in a nice, quiet & clean area of town.

This is a beautiful, very old hotel with wrought-iron railings, wooden floors, and a shady courtyard that is well kept right in the middle of the city of Mobile. This be a very nice romantic getaway for any couple that just wants to relax. The rates were very reasonable as well. I would love to stay here again and would recommend this hotel to anyone needing a quite, comfortable place to stay in Mobile.

The Inn lobby and courtyard are lovely especially when lit up at night. Our room was spacious and well-appointed with antiques, a style we really enjoy in a historic type place. The location was fantastic: walking distance to several parks, the old downtown bars and restaurants, museums, etc.

It's an old hotel, but the rooms and property are well kept. It's sort of like a look back in the 1800's South. I felt as though I was in the Gone With Wind when I used the stairs to access my room. I was waiting for Rhett Butler to come down. It really goes back into it's own time. Very cool. There was a lovely woman checking me in at the front desk. She took the time to explain the surroundings and also had a a steel listing well known restaurants nearby. Very helpful and welcoming.

This such an historic place! First built in 1862 then renovated and added to in the 1960s it has a special charm. The staff are incredibly friendly and accommodating. The location is simply wonderful! We liked it's romantic charm so much we stayed twice in the past month! For a short stay it is a great place. There are a couple of wonderful parks nearby that you can walk around and then there are all the neat shops on Dauphin street to explore. We felt VERY safe and we are seniors.

An older hotel w/ a good Vibe. It's a little quirky, but as close to downtown as you need to be. Lots and lots of restaurants and such is well within walking distance. Our room, 207 was of a decent size with two very comfortable beds. The staff is just great. Very easy going and eager to please!

We were given the James bond room suite which was fun. It was a very large and comfortable space with a lovely balcony overlooking the beautiful courtyard. The initial front of house staff seemed rather abrupt, however it didn't affect our stay. I did feel that some of the decor looked rather tired but I want the reiterate that is was comfortable and more than adequate for our needs. Would stay again if in the area.
